Maggie Vaughan, Interim Director of Athletics

A member of the Potomac community since 2019, Maggie has an impressive background as an educator, athlete, and coach. Maggie’s career in education began at Alexandria’s Episcopal High School, where she taught Honors English and served as assistant director of girls athletics. She subsequently went back to school, earning her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, then practiced law for nearly two decades.

In college, she co-captained Harvard’s national championship women’s lacrosse team and was named First Team All-American, First Team All-Ivy League, and Ivy League Player of the Year. In addition, Maggie was a member of the United States Lacrosse Squad for eight years; during her tenure, the team twice captured the World Cup (in Edinburgh in 1993 and Tokyo in 1997). In recognition of her athletic accomplishments, Maggie was inducted into Harvard University’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005 and the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2015.
